Analysis of vehicles driving maneuvers at low coefficient of adhesion

This master’s thesis deals with driving maneuvers at low coefficient of adhesion, especially in winter season. It includes a list of adhesion coefficients on many surfaces, published by various authors. Figures were through the use of statistical methods divided into normal and exceeding. There are described terms having impact on adhesion. For determination of adhesion was used tests like emergency braking, circle test and slalom. The major part contains specification of used vehicles, surfaces, weather conditions, measuring devices and realized tests. In addition to using accelerometer, there was a successful attempt to use timekeeping facilities to determine deceleration of vehicle. Acquired data were processed and compared to another publications.

Title of project: Comparison of somatic parameters of female canoe sprint and canoe slalom competitors Objectives of the work: The aim of this work is to compare the anthropometric parameters (body structure and body composition) of sprint canoe and canoe slalom female competitors. Methods of data processing: Anthropometric measurement was carried out by Riegerová, Přidalová, Ulbrichová (2006) and all parameters were all in accordance with the ISAK methodology used in the study by Ridge et al. (2007). A Harpenden-type caliper was used to measure skinfolds. Somatotypes were determined according to the methodology of Carter & Heath (1990). A bioimpedance scale (Tanita MC-980) was used for body composition analysis. The data were subsequently analyzed using descriptive (mean, standard deviation, median, minimum and maximum value, %) and exploratory statistics to assess statistical (T- test, p<0.05) and substantive (Cohen's d, d>0.8 ) of the significance of the difference between female in canoe sprint and canoe slalom. Results: In the compared groups, significant statistical differences were recorded in the circumferences of the biceps (p=0.00, d=1.43), forearms (p=0.04) and thighs (p=0.00, d=1.87). The effect of altitude on the regeneration in alpine skiing - a review study

Background Training at high altitude, historically in natural conditions and now in created artificially hypoxic environments, has been used to enhance physical performance in a wide range of endurance sports for many years. For alpine skiing, which takes place naturally at higher altitudes, prolonged exposure to altitude hypoxia and low ambient temperature is specific. However, even here, some effects of this specific load on the athletes are still unclear. Objectives The aim of this thesis is to summarize the results of studies dealing with the topic of hypoxic training in alpine skiers and its effect on selected physiological parameters. Methods The thesis is conducted as a systematic review in accordance with the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). Four electronic databases were used to obtain relevant sources - Web of Science (WoS), PubMed, Scopus and SPORTDiscus using the EBSCO database. Results A total of 234 potential publications were retrieved, of which 15 studies including data from a total of 294 probands, mostly elite alpine skiers, were used in the final systematic review.
